 Milkfed veal
Milkfed veal is veal that is produced within Alpuro Group. The meat is succulent, very tender, light in colour and comes from calves with the age of approximitaly 26 weeks.
The basis of milkfed veal lies in the feed provided to the calves. This comprised mainly high-quality dairy products, supplemented with a specially developed multi-grain feed mix. The sophisticated composition and top-quality ingredients of the feed ensure that the meat has excellent flavour, colour and tenderness.
Alpuro manufactures the milk for calves and the feed mix itself. As well as offering certainty about raw materials and composition, this ensures optimum quality control. All data about feed manufacture, together with the results of quality inspections, are recorded in the information system of the Alpuro Group, the IVI®-system. The data is always available immediately to any interested parties. The IVI®-system is ISO 9001 certified.

Around 200 veal farmers, all based in the Netherlands, provide a constant stream of calves that meet the quality requirements for milkfed veal. Since 1963 all these veal farmers have been operating in accordance with the quality guidelines that have been developed and established within the Alpuro Group. The Alpuro Group is the only fully integrated veal chain that is ISO 9001 certified. This therefore includes all the veal farms.
Each veal farmer can record his farm data in Alpuro's business information system. Each individual item of data is incorporated, collated and organised into a management information system. The business information system contains data about feed consumption, use of drugs, mortality rates and vitality. Each veal farmer can compare the data in the management information system with his own farm data at any time. Deviations from the norm are immediately apparent so that swift corrective action can be taken. The business information system is part of the IVI®-system.
Healthy calves, sophisticated high-quality feed, availability of all the requisite information and motivated and highly skilled veal farmers: all of these factors guarantee a quality product: milkfed veal.
